Dr.Tara Sabapathy, M.Ed,Ph.D working as Head of the Department of the Post Graduate Studies in Education, Vijaya Teachers College, Bangalore. She was previously the Chairperson, PG Department of Education, Bangalore University, Bangalore. She has 35 years of experience in teaching and research. She has presented a number of research papers in National and International Conferences. She has published a number of research papers in journals and books. She has guided 9 Ph.D students 16 M.Phil students and more than 250 M.Ed students for the research work. She has received the Christ College Liverpool Hope University Fellowship United Kingdom in 2006 for Cross Cultural Research. She was awarded the Best Educationist Award from IPERA – HIBS from IPERA, Patna in the year 2011. Sudershan Rakheja Memorial Award for Best Woman Educationalist 2013. Dr.Radhakrishna Shikshana Ratna National Award 2014 by International Institute for Science and Economic Reforms ( R) Bengaluru. Kannada Rajyotsava Award by Karnataka Cultural Academy, Bangalore in the year 2014. Sadvi Sahajobai Life Time Achievement Award by Harprasad Institute of Behavioural Science, Agra in the year 2015.
